Uber driver’s car stolen in Kirwan carjacking

An uber driver has avoided injury after reportedly being carjacked at the blade of a tomahawk.

A Townsville uber driver has avoided injury after being threatened with a tomahawk and carjacked at the hands of a car thief.

Around 9.30am this morning, a group of people carjacked the Uber driver and took their vehicle on the inner Kirwan street of Wattle street.

A police spokeswoman confirmed the incident and that the matter was currently under investigation.

A bystander attempted to intervene and was stopped from assisting by the individual wielding a tomahawk.

No injuries were reported.
