Two teenage boys are facing a string of charges after allegedly robbing a shop at knifepoint in South Townsville.

Two teenage boys are facing a string of charges after allegedly robbing a shop at knifepoint in South Townsville.

Police received reports two men — one allegedly armed with a knife — enter the Kwik Shop on Palmer St and robbed it at about 6.10am on Friday.

Police said the duo allegedly threatened the manager before fleeing with some cash from the till.

Police arrived on the scene with the dog squad and cordoned off the area before arresting two teenagers at about 9.45am.

An 18-year-old man from Castle Hill has been charged with one count each of armed robbery in company, entering a premises with intent to commit an indictable offence and possessing drug utensils.

He’s also facing three counts of possessing dangerous drugs.

He was remanded in custody and is due to face court on February 6.

A 17-year-old boy from North Ward has been charged with one count of armed robbery in company and entering a premises with intent to commit an indictable offence.

He was remanded in custody and is due to face court on March 24.
