The excitement is building as the Cowboys prepare to take on the Paramatta Eels in Friday’s preliminary final in Townsville.
For Kate and Nathan Lawler, supporting the Cowboys is a way of life.
The Lawlers are even raising their daughters Ellie, 10, and Zara, 8, to fly the blue and yellow flag.
The family was among those who got their hands on tickets to the game at Queensland Country Bank Stadium on Monday.
Ms Lawler said the atmosphere of Friday’s game would be “awesome” to witness.
“The kids get right into it,” Ms Lawler said.
“They are louder than us, they go nuts for them,
“ … a win would be awesome.”
Little Zara said she was looking forward to seeing her favourite players, Jeremiah Nanai and Reece Robson, play.
Zara and Ellie even got the chance to brush shoulders with Cowboys’ Griffin Neame and Riley Price on Monday.
