Snatching up a block at the Kelso Riverstone development was a no-brainer for Townsville couple Claudine D’Emden and Jayden Hickey.
Riverstone Estate is one of Townsville’s newest residential developments and situated in the heart of the booming Upper Ross.
Elements North Queensland is behind the project which has seen all 117-lots in the first two stages of Riverstone sold before construction even finished.
The pair currently live in nearby Condon but as soon as land was released in for the first stages of the development they quickly bought a 725sq m block.
“We were actually just driving past on the way to Woolies and saw the signs that the development was coming and thought it would be really nice to live out here,” she said.
“Then we saw they put the first lot out so we snatched up a block up because it was well priced for the size.”
The couple hope to start building their forever home in the coming months and have the keys to the door in time for the festive season.
“It would be lovely if we could get it before Christmas,” she said.
Riverstone sales manager, Steve Pozzebon said the strong sales demonstrated the demand for new homesites in Townsville that were well priced and close to shops and schools.
“Construction of our sold out first stage is now complete, and it is exciting to see the first homes starting construction.
“The majority of the blocks have been sold to local buyers, which has helped the strong sales we have seen in our second stage” Mr Pozzebon said.
“All 52 homesites in stage two have now sold out prior to the commencement of construction. Stage two offered a range of lot sizes from 400sq m to over 1000sq m providing housing options for buyers.
“Stage one roads are now open and buyers can visit and see for themselves the quality of the development. It also highlights the local demand for quality housing options that are close to amenity such as shops, schools and employment hubs, with buyers enthusiastic to get in early and be a part of the community as it grows,” he said.
Riverstone is on South Beck Drive close to established schools, shops and recreation and a short commute to employment precincts including the Townsville University Hospital, JCU and Lavarack Barracks via the recent Ring Road upgrades.
Stage Three of Riverstone is expected to be released mid-year.
