LEGENDARY hip hop artists, Hilltop Hoods lifted the roof of the famous big top tent on Saturday, thrilling thousands who packed in to the Supercars gig.
It’s the first concert held at the NTI Townsville 500 since 2019 after Covid-19 caused chaos for the music industry.
The packed-out show, topped off a big day of racing at Reid Park where Shane van Gisbergen won the opening race on Saturday afternoon.
Fans of all ages, who had free tickets to the show with their same-day race ticket, crammed in to see the 10-time ARIA Award winning stars perform.
Supercars team personnel and drivers were even spotted in the crowd, taking in the performance after a gruelling 250km race.
Hilltop Hoods’ show included their trademark style which included pyrotechnics, a horn section and live animations on a giant LED screen.
To top off a successful opening day, NTI Limited has renewed its partnership with Repco Supercars Championship, signing on as the naming rights partner of the Townsville event for at least two more years.
NTI chief executive Tony Clark said they were excited to extend its partnership.
“We love the opportunities that Supercars gives us to engage with communities across Australia, particularly those in the transport and logistics industry who keep Australia moving,” Mr Clark said.
“We’re proud to invest in the future of Supercars and we look forward to continuing our support of this fantastic sport for many seasons to come.”
