From finding a hidden treasure in the region’s biggest swap meet to testing your knowlege while riding the rails, there’s something for everyone this weekend.
Here’s 10 things to do across Toowoomba and the Darling Downs this weekend.
1. Huge swap meeting
The annual Toowoomba Swap run by the Darling Downs Veteran and Vintage Motor Club will run through the weekend at the Toowoomba Showgrounds.
Last year’s event attracted more than 8000 people and about 1000 of those were site holders who were buying and selling hard-to-source parts for their hobby cars.

2. Aquarium open day
Aquarium Factory Outlet, Sam’s Refined Furniture and Toowoomba Saw Service will host an open day at their Wilsonton complex on Saturday.
The event runs from 9am-2pm at 117-119 McDougall St.
There will be a free sausage sizzle, business tours and plenty of opportunities to chat with the experts.
3. Dinosaur display
This weekend will be the last opportunity families have to experience the Jurassic Creatures display in Queens Park.
Enter the prehistoric age and wander through this interactive event full of moving dinosaurs and fun activities. Tickets and session times available online.
4. Dine in the vines
Indulge in this intimate dining experience with your closest friends, nestled among the vines, and enjoy a meal you’ll never forget at Rosalie House.
There’ll be wine-tasting and a private tour of the vineyard. Tickets cost $250 per person for the Saturday session.
5. Science Nature Art
Get creative and dive into a world where science, nature, and art collide at Cobb & Co Museum.
Explore a variety of hands-on activities, experiences, and workshops that are guaranteed to teach you something new.
The display is suitable for all ages and abilities. Free with admission.
Open 9am – 4pm daily.
6. Big weekend of racing
On a big weekend for racing across the country, the horses will also run at Clifford Park Racecourse this Saturday.
The betting ring and main bar opens from 10am, and live racing kicks off at 4pm.
Adult tickets are $10, while concession card holders and children aged between 13-17 can enter for $5.
Children aged under 12 can enter for free.
7. Sing-a-long
Choirbolical is hosting an open workshop on Saturday and is inviting amateur singers to pop in.
Attendees are required to register early for one of two workshops held at DeMolay House on Margaret St from 12.30pm.
Choirbolical is a non-auditioned, community choir that performs a varied repertoire and is always looking for new singers.

8. Markets
Stock up on fresh produce and homemade goodies for your weekend celebrations at one of Toowoomba’s quality markets.
Every Saturday Toowoomba Farmers’ Market is as 27 Lindsay St, East Toowoomba (near the windmills at Cobb & Co Museum) from 7am to 12pm, and every Sunday the Toowoomba PCYC Market is at 219 James St from 7am to 12.30pm.
9. Parkrun
Keep the full plate of Christmas celebrations from your waist by joining in on the weekly parkrun in Queens Park on Saturday morning from 7am.
10. Watch a movie
Beat the heat and enjoy a flick in the airconditioned comfort of Grand Central Cinema.
The movies playing this weekend include the Bob Dylan bio-pic A Complete Unknown, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Mufasa: The Lion King, Paddington in Peru, Flight Risk and We Live in Time.
