The developers behind a massive housing estate in one of Toowoomba’s fastest-growing areas has revealed when it will start work on a new childcare centre and playground in the precinct.
Hallmark Property Group has secured contracts on all but two of its first 56 lots of Wirraglen Estate in Kleinton, having completed construction on half the 350-lot project late last year.
Project director Tim Colthup said the company was hoping to seal lots with the council within weeks.
“The finishes touches are now being applied to the estate and we are very much looking forward to being able to register the first lots in the coming weeks,” he said.
“Due to the high volume of lots we have delivered at once, the process has been challenging at times, but we could not be more pleased with the results we’ve achieved.
“Our first precinct release of 56 lots at Wirraglen View was well received by the market with all but two of those lots now under contract.
“We have just announced an additional release of ten lots at Wirraglen Bloom which can now be secured via expression of interest.”
It comes just weeks after the Toowoomba Regional Council approved a new childcare centre for more than 100 kids on neighbouring land along Kleinton Rd.
According to designs, the new facility would cater for newborns right up to five-year-olds and include more than 40 parking spots.
Hallmark chief executive and prominent developer Ian Knox said the centre, which will be Kleinton’s first, should be open by next year.
“We have received strong interest from a number of providers to lease the premises once constructed,” he said.
“We are committed to ensuring the right operator is selected to meet the needs of the families of Highfields.
“It is anticipated that construction will commence on the site at the beginning of 2025, with the first intake of children possible later that year.”
The company is reportedly working with the Toowoomba Regional Council to deliver a new green space and children’s playground at Wirraglen.
“In keeping with the quality of the rest of the development we are keen to provide our residents with a playground that offers something special,” Mr Colthup said.
“The highlight of our concept plan is a central bespoke tower offering a variety of play elements suitable for a range of ages.
“Other play equipment proposed includes an accessible spinner, swing set, trampolines, balance and sensory play pieces.”
