The Toowoomba-Cecil Plain Rd has been cut after a vehicle collided with a high-voltage power pole and burst into flames.

Emergency services were called to the Biddeston crash about 9.20am on Wednesday and arrived to find the vehicle engulfed in fire.

All occupants were accounted for, with paramedics treating a woman aged in her 40s for spinal and abdominal injuries and a teenage girl with arm and hand injuries.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the pair suffered “significant” injuries and were taken to Toowoomba Hospital.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said the crews will let the vehicle burn itself out as the risk from electrical lines was too great.

Ergon Energy was called to isolate the power.

Meanwhile, fire has spread to nearby grass and scrub, but poses no threat to property.

Firefighters have it contained, the QFD spokeswoman said.
