A single vehicle crash along a suburban Toowoomba street has ended in a significant drug haul after a large quantity of drugs and a weapon were allegedly discovered by police.
Emergency services responded to the crash along Alderley St in Rangeville about noon on Wednesday, November 15 after a Hyundai collided with a tree.
The female driver was suspected of being under the influence of drugs, and was taken to Toowoomba Hospital for further testing.
It is understood that a police search of the vehicle uncovered a large quantity of prescription drugs, as well as a pistol and assorted drug paraphernalia.
A crime scene was declared as police gathered large bags of evidence from the vehicle.
Initial reports indicate that the vehicle was of interest to police due to its links to a man who was suspected of drug offences.
That man was not present when emergency services arrived.
Investigations are ongoing.
