The 24-year-old male driver then drove her to Newtown, roughly 3km west of the city, where she was taken to an address and put in a structure on the property, a statement from police said.

The woman managed to contact a friend, who then contacted police, the statement said.

She was taken to Toowoomba Base Hospital and assessed.
