Two young women and a teenage man accused of luring a 29-year-old man to Queens Park via a dating app before assaulting and robbing him have had their respective charges adjourned in Toowoomba Magistrates Court.

Kyle James Dale Hibbins, Chelsea Jo Leak and Kathryn Grace Leighton were not required to be in court when their cases were mentioned on Thursday but each was represented by a solicitor.

Toowoomba police accuse the women, aged 20 and 19 respectively, of luring the complainant to Queens Park one night in October where it is alleged Mr Hibbins, 19, and the two women assaulted the man and stole $500 cash, his phone, jacket and shirt from him.

The complainant man was taken by ambulance to Toowoomba Hospital where it was found he had four fractures to his spine, the court was told when the matters were first mentioned following the trio’s arrest in October.

None of the three accused have as yet been required to enter any pleas to the charges which include assault occasioning bodily harm while armed and in company, and robbery with violence while armed and in company.

Mr Hibbins has been remanded in custody since being refused bail after his arrest days after the incident while the two women remain on bail.

Magistrate Clare Kelly adjourned the trio’s respective cases for mention back in the same court on February 2, 2023.
