Kelly-Ann May Sinclair set for hearing in Toowoomba court

The 36-year-old mother is accused of dumping a man’s body in bushland outside Toowoomba and will face a committal hearing in court.

A Glenvale woman accused of dumping a dead man’s body in scrub on Toowoomba’s eastern outskirts will face a committal hearing in July.

Kelly-Ann May Sinclair, 36, was arrested weeks after the body of 28-year-old Blake Riley was found in bushland at Preston in January 2021, and she has remained in custody since.

“It’s been a long process,” her solicitor Amber Acreman, of Skuse Graham Criminal Lawyers, told Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Ms Sinclair has not as yet been required to enter pleas to more than 70 charges which include interfering with a corpse, 63 counts of supplying dangerous drugs, trafficking dangerous drugs and other drug related matters.

Kelly-Ann May Sinclair has been charged with tampering with a corpse, among a string of other mainly drug related matters.

The drugs matters could be dealt with in the Toowoomba Supreme Court sittings next week, Ms Acreman said.

Ms Acreman sought a date for a committal hearing during which one witness would be cross examined.

Barrister Steve Kissick had been engaged for the matter, she said.

Acting Magistrate Kay Ryan set that hearing for July 1 in Toowoomba Magistrates Court and remanded Sinclair in custody.
