Helicopter to rescue teenager stuck on rock in Toowoomba

A helicopter operation is underway for a teenager who has been stuck on a rock in a Darling Downs park. Here’s what we know about the rescue.

A helicopter has been called to rescue a young man stuck on a rock along an escarpment park in North Toowoomba.

Two Queensland Fire Department crews and paramedics are on scene in Jubilee Park near Mackenzie Street Lookout in Mt Lofty after reports a man in his late teens got stuck on a rock, a QFD spokeswoman said.

There are no reports of injuries, with a number of people below him who are all safe a QAS spokeswoman said.

A rescue helicopter has been called in order to winch him off the rock and to safety, she said.
