Clive Palmer’s Covid-19 anti-vaccine pamphlet distributed throughout Toowoomba

With Toowoomba so far narrowly avoiding lockdown, the mining magnate’s latest pamphlet claiming ‘there is no pandemic in Australia’ has hit mailboxes around the region.

Queensland mining magnate Clive Palmer’s latest Covid-19 conspiracy theory has reached Toowoomba, with a new pamphlet that peddles disputed claims on Covid-19 vaccines arriving in Toowoomba mailboxes.

The pamphlet, addressed to Therapeutic Good Administration head Adjunct Professor John Skerritt, was a response to the TGA’s findings that a series of radio advertisements misrepresented the adverse health effects of Covid-19 vaccinations.

In it, Mr Palmer publishes out-of-context claims on vaccine-related adverse reactions and deaths while stating “there is no pandemic in Australia”, accusing both the government and the TGA of “spreading misleading information … designed to create fear in the population”.

“The only information that was published by me is that there has been one Covid death this year, that the TGA (has) reported that (more than) 300 people have died after receiving the vaccination and that there were (more than) 31,600 adverse reports received by the TGA,” the pamphlet said.

In a statement, the TGA said adverse events after vaccination didn’t mean the event was caused by vaccination.

“Australians should only rely on information from australia.gov.au and health.gov.au, which are the official Australian government websites for Covid-19 information,” it said.
