Brett John Seymour told to front Toowoomba court next time his assault charges were mentioned

The former Brisbane Bronco was expected to front court next time his assault charges were mentioned.

A former NRL star facing multiple assault charges has been ordered to show up at Toowoomba Magistrates Court next time his matters were mentioned.

Brett John Seymour was not required to be in court on Friday, October 20, but the prosecution told the court that police were intending to make a slight change to his charges and that he was required to be in court when that was done.

The 33-year-old former Brisbane Bronco, Cronulla Sharks and New Zealand Warriors player has not as yet been required to enter any pleas to the charges which include four counts of assault occasioning bodily harm.

No particulars of the police allegations have as yet been aired in court.

Mr Seymour’s solicitor Paige Hetherington, of Skuse Graham Lawyers, told the court her client was on bail and in regular contact.

The 33-year-old had applied for Legal Aid funding on October 5 but that had not as yet been processed, Ms Hetherington said.

Magistrate Kyna Morice remanded Mr Seymour on bail and adjourned his matters for mention back in the same court on November 10 and ordered that his personal appearance be required.
