A teenager went on a spending spree across Toowoomba with a stolen credit card pinched from an unlocked BMW.

Braydon Hearn and a co-accused racked up $1290.88 in fraudulent transactions after stealing a bank card from a vehicle.

Toowoomba Magistrates Court was told that about 10pm on August 10, the 18 year old broke into a North Toowoomba shed, entered an unlocked BMW and stole a bank card.

Over the next three days police prosecutor Rohan Brewster-Webb said Hearn and the co-accused went on a spree, buying cigarettes, mobile phones, SIM kits and drinks.

In court on Thursday, Hearn pleaded guilty to enter premises and commit an indictable offence, and seven charges of fraud.

Hearn’s solicitor Michael Corbin said his client had good prospects of finding work upon his release, and that he had multiple qualifications that would aid in his search for employment.

Magistrate Graham Lee convicted Hearn and sentenced him to four months jail, with a parole release date of December 18. He was also ordered to pay compensation of $645.44.
