Man arrested after dumping stolen vehicle at Toowoomba shopping centre

A white Toyota HiLux allegedly stolen from an address in Drayton has been located by police and with a few extra kilometres on the odometer.
It’s understood a Queensland police helicopter spotted the vehicle travelling along the Ipswich Motorway some time on Thursday morning, with police on the ground later locating it abandoned near Toowoomba Plaza this afternoon.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the unknown offenders are believed to have stolen the vehicle between 8pm Wednesday and 3am Thursday.
The QPS spokeswoman said a 28-year-old man has been arrested and is assisting police with inquiries.
A nearby resident saw police arresting a man at around noon near McDonald’s restaurant on Ruthven St.
Police urge anyone with information that might assist the investigation to come forward.
