A man remains on bail after facing charges of stealing a vehicle, drink-driving, and causing death due to his alleged “dangerous” driving.

Thomas Austin Rowlands faced Hobart Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning charged with a string of offences.

Those charges include one count of causing death by dangerous driving and one count of causing the death of another person by negligent driving.

He also faced one count of motor vehicle stealing, driving a motor vehicle while exceeding the prescribed alcohol limit, and use of an unregistered motor vehicle.

Mr Rowlands’ defence lawyer said they required a short adjournment in order to fully get across the details of the case.

“[There are] some issues we would like to explore and seek some further clarification upon,”

the lawyer said.
