A disbarred Top End real estate agent who allegedly attacked the Chief Minister with a cream crepe has accused her own psychiatrist of being part of a government conspiracy.
Suzanne Lee Milgate appeared before Darwin Local Court Judge Julie Franz on Thursday for a case management inquiry over allegations she slapped a dessert into the face of then-Chief Minister Natasha Fyles at the Nightcliff markets on September 24, 2023.
Ms Milgate has pleaded not guilty to the assault charge.
During a hearing last year, the former Darwin real estate agent admitted she threw the cream crepe at Ms Fyles, but denied a crepe could be considered a “weapon” or that it caused Ms Fyles any injuries.
The court has previously heard Ms Milgate accused her alleged victim of orchestrating a vast conspiracy against her — “organising” her arrest, enforcing the charges, and “paid off” tenants who lodged complaints in the NT Civil and Administrative Tribunal — as “revenge” for the crepe assault.
In November Ms Milgate delayed her part-heard hearing over the assault in order to seek out a forensic psychiatrist to determine if she has post traumatic stress disorder.
However on Thursday, Ms Franz said she had received a letter saying while Ms Milgate had seen a psychiatrist, she had concerns over the mental health specialist’s “connections” to Ms Fyles.
Ms Milgate told the court she had done a “background check” on the psychiatrist and revealed a connection between her and the alleged victim.
However when asked what the relationship was, Ms Milgate said it was because the mental health worker was employed by the Department of Health during the period where Ms Fyles was the Health Minister.
Ms Milgate said she was still seeking an interstate psychologist, and Ms Franz provided her with a directory for appropriate mental health workers.
Ms Franz said she was unwilling to vacate the upcoming court hearing set for May 21, but set a another case management inquiry for May 2.
