A woman has lost her licence after a hit-and-run crash in the Barossa on Thursday.

A woman has lost her licence after she allegedly was involved in a hit-and-run crash in a heavily intoxicated state.

On Thursday evening about 5.30pm, Barossa highway patrol was called to a service station on Murray St at Nuriootpa.

It was reported a Volkswagen Tiguan collided with a Subaru Forester parked there, before it was driven away from the scene.

Police was able to obtain the registration of the alleged offending vehicle and attended the registered owner’s address.

The driver, a 45-year-old local woman, was spoken to and recorded a breath test of 0.286 – more than five times the legal limit.

She was reported for drink driving and failing to exchange details.

She has been issued an immediate loss of licence and her vehicle was impounded for 28 days.

Erratic driving with suspicious content:

Meanwhile, police arrested three people after they were caught driving erratically overnight.

Just before 3am, police saw a car being driven in a dangerous manner on Prospect Rd, running numerous red lights.

Police tried to stop the car, however it continued heading in a northerly direction.

PolAir tracked the car to Northcote St at Kilburn.

When patrols arrived on scene, the occupants attempted to run from police but they were quickly arrested.

The car – a black Mazda hatch – was searched, and numerous implements and tools suspected to be used for house break-ins were found inside.

The vehicle has been seized for further inquiries.

The driver, a 39-year-old Aldinga Beach man, has been charged with driving in a dangerous manner, failing to stop, hindering police and going equipped.

The passenger, a 34-year-old of woman no fixed address, was also charged with hindering police and going equipped.

The second passenger, a 36-year-old Ferryden Park man, has been charged with failing to truthfully answer and going equipped.

All three people will appear in Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday.
