Salisbury is set to become the home of one of South Australia’s most exciting family-friendly attractions, with the official opening of TreeClimb Salisbury at Harry Bowey Reserve on December 27.
Initial plans to open to the public on Boxing Day were postponed due to the hot weather expected.
This thrilling new course, the first of its kind in northern Adelaide, brings four of the state’s longest ziplines to the area. Stretching up to 150m in length and soaring 11m above the ground, the ziplines wind through the natural beauty of Salisbury Park, giving families an opportunity to experience nature from a whole new perspective.
Adventure seekers of all ages will be able to enjoy over 1km of ziplines and a range of suspended obstacle courses high in the trees. One of the standout features of the TreeClimb Salisbury experience is its family-friendly design, with a dedicated course that allows parents and children to climb together.
The project has been years in the making, following extensive community consultation, with 93 per cent of respondents supporting the initiative.
Harry Bowey Reserve was selected for its facilities, including parking and picnic areas. The health of the trees was a priority, with arborist surveys conducted before construction, and ongoing monitoring planned.
“The opening of TreeClimb in Salisbury is an exciting addition to the remarkable growth happening in northern Adelaide,” Salisbury Mayor Gillian Aldridge said.
TreeClimb managing director Seb Packer said: “This exciting new location offers an adventure for the entire family.”
