Two men and a woman have been remanded in custody after a wild arrest in Adelaide’s south on Thursday.

Beau Dean Peace, 25, from Port Lincoln, Alexis Sylvia Jane Fenton, 26, from Semaphore Park and Nathan Lee Warren, 22, from Birkenhead all fronted the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on Friday via video link, charged with various theft and trespassing offences. No pleas have been entered.

The trio were arrested after two cars were stolen from a Christies Beach home Thursday morning, with one forcing police into a 90-minute standoff by climbing on to the roof of the Christies Beach Hotel.

Magistrate Natalie Browne ordered home detention reports for Mr Peace and Ms Fenton – noting the serious nature of the alleged offending. Mr Warren made no application for bail.

“Ms Fenton, I’ve ordered a home detention report and a bail inquiry report,” Ms Browne said.

“These charges are very serious (so) I’m not going to release you on bail today.

“It’s certainly serious offending. I’ve had a chance to look at the facts of charge and the evidence seems to be pretty strong.”

The incident unfolded after a Christies Beach resident woke between 7am and 8am to find her Saxon Street house had been broken into.

The defendants allegedly stole two station wagons – a silver Toyota Fortuner and a blue Subaru Forester – as well as electronics and handbags.

The female victim used GPS to track down one of the cars, which led the search to nearby Ramsgate Ave, where both vehicles were abandoned.

After searching the area, police arrested two of the suspects, Ms Fenton and Mr Peace, just before 11am. However, Mr Warren allegedly tried to evade police by climbing on to the roof of the nearby Christies Beach Hotel, sparking a standoff.

After negotiating with the man, MFS crews helped get him off the roof and he was taken into police custody just after 12.30pm.

On Friday, the prosecution said they were opposed to all forms of bail due to “the serious nature of the offending” and “strength of the prosecution case”.

Mr Peace and Ms Fenton will return to court later this month for bail submissions.
