Runner, surfer, former teacher, current Bachelorette contestant and coffee entrepreneur Pete Mann has joined the collective of businesses at Seppeltsfield with his high octane take on coffee.

Mann has launched Octeine Coffee - octane plus caffeine - at Seppeltsfield, which will offer coffee flights, and a modern menu to round out the high end offering from FINO restaurant.

The Barossa winery has undergone a transformation since proprietor Warren Randall took ownership more than a decade ago, and now has Jam Factory Craft and Design Studios, Vasse Virgin Skin Care and Segway Sensation SA on site as well as its own cellar door operations.

Mann says the brand is inspired by his love of the outdoors, and making the perfect coffee appealed to his focus on attention to detail. He launched his venture - which has an outlet in Kent Town and a hole in the wall in Grenfell St as well - in March last year, with more to come in the metro area, and connected with the Seppeltsfield team at a Showcase SA event actually held at the winery.

Mann says the Octeine brand combines two things he loves - the outdoors and coffee- and the business has a sustainable focus.

Seppeltsfield’s “village concept”, which brings together a number of businesses and artisans including leatherworkers and a knifemaker, was attractive, and a great fit for the business, he says.

A “coffee flight”, currently using a single origin Colombian coffee, is a nod to the new venture’s home at the winery. Randall said he was thrilled to have Octeine join the Seppeltsfield collective.

“Octeine Coffee will bring a new dimension to the Seppeltsfield Village and the Barossa, catering for visitors looking to make a pit stop and rueful their engines, whilst they explore all the region has to offer.

“Working with fellow entrepreneur Pete Mann and his thriving Octeine Coffee business has been a pleasure and we look forward to a strong and successful future together here at Seppeltsfield”.

Seppeltsfield was recognised in the World’s Best Vineyards in 2019, coming in at number 47.

Octeine Coffee at Seppeltsfield will be open 7 days a week: weekdays 8.30am – 3.30pm, weekends 10am – 5pm.
