The Bachelorette promo: Top contenders reveals

Two of the four South Aussie blokes on The Bachelorette have a couple of things in common – they both have stunning celebrity exes called Kate and a potential new love interest named Becky.

Regular readers of this column will already know that Channel 10 weather presenter Kate Freebairn’s former husband Pete Mann will be among the single men appearing on the Ten show starring sisters Elly and Becky Miles.

Currently the owner of Octeine Coffee, Pete, 34, is a former geography teacher and our spies tell us it will be interesting to see how the land lies now that he’s making his first foray into the world of television. They say he’s one of Becky’s favourites on the show.

Also suiting up to be a suitor is 35-year-old Adelaide builder James “Harry” Harris who has already made it big on the small screen.

Harry and his former partner Kate Whiting, who share a five-year-old son, Xavier, competed on Channel 7’s House Rules in 2017. They finished runners-up on the renovation show won by Gold Coast husband and wife Aaron and Daniella Winter.

Like Pete, Harry shares a connection with Becky, for whom it was a case of lust at first sight.

“Harry made me feel comfortable” Becky says on a promo, also admitting she’s “getting hot”.

Joining Pete and Harry to make up the four guys representing SA – and among 20 suitors – on the show are Sajed “Saj” Bakhsh, 25, and Andrew Thomas, 30.

Born in Afghanistan, Saj works as a personal trainer and fitness model and is also busy with study. He’s enrolled in a double degree in international relations and social work.

While The Bachelorette’s press kit lists his official occupation as “tour guide”, Andrew is also a voice-over actor whose work can be heard on Fitness First radio ads.

The Bachelorette premieres Wednesday, October 7 at 7.30pm on Channel 10.
