A Riverland man has been arrested after police allegedly discovered meth, drug dealing paraphernalia and stolen jewellery during a raid of his home.
Police searched the 54-year-old man’s Renmark property about midday on Wednesday, in relation to a recent theft in the area.
During the raid, police allege that 12 grams of a substance believed to be methamphetamine, paraphernalia relating to drugs and drug dealing, and several items of jewellery were found inside the house.
The 54-year-old allegedly hindered and resisted police on arrival and has been charged with controlled drug, hinder and resist police, and unlawful possession.
The arrest comes after a large drug crop was seized in the state’s South-East, with almost 100 marijuana plants up to three metres high found in remote bushland.
The plants were found across the Coorong close to the beach near Salt Creek, a popular but hard-to-access fishing destination.
