Two arrested over Wingfield drugs and weapon raid at industrial premises

A man tried to sneak out a hole in the wall as heavily armed police raided a building and found a stash of drugs and weapons.

A man tried to sneak through a hole in the side of a building to escape heavily armed officers as they raided a Wingfield premises, uncovering a variety of weapons and drugs.

STAR Group officers stormed an industrial property on Princes St about 11am Thursday and found a prescribed pistol and ammunition, and a quantity of meth with scales, cash, ice pipes and cannabis.

Among the stash was a taser and extendible baton.

A man, 35, of Wingfield. was seen trying to flee police through a hole in the side wall of the premises but was quickly apprehended and arrested.

A woman, 30, of no fixed address, was also arrested at the scene.

The pair were charged with aggravated trafficking in a controlled drug, possessing a prescribed firearm, and other charges.

Both were refused bail to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday.

It comes after a pair was arrested for drug offences on Wednesday after a Para Hills raid.

Police from the Northern District searched a home on Wednesday, and located three litres of GHB or liquid fantasy, more than 7500 LSD tabs, more than 100 Xanax tablets, 500g of MDMA, 20g of cocaine, 1kg of cannabis, a pill press and nearly $9500.

A man and woman at the address, both aged 20, were arrested and charged with three counts of trafficking in a large commercial quantity of controlled drug, three counts of trafficking in a controlled drug and other offences.

They were bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court in August.

It comes days after a man wanted over multiple drug operations involving nearly 1000 cannabis plants was arrested after a traffic stop.

The arrested man was linked to four cannabis grow houses including in Elizabeth Grove, Smithfield Plains, Elizabeth North and Sellicks Beach.

The man of no fixed address, 30, was charged with three counts of cultivating a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug and two counts of trafficking a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug.
