EDITOR'S NOTE: Assault charges against Randall Lee Headon have been dropped.
A major twist in the case of a trio charged over a man allegedly abducted, and hogtied in Paralowie has led to charges being dropped against two of them.EDITOR
Three people were originally arrested in March after the alleged attack, but charges against two have been dropped – leaving one still accused.
Steven Christopher Lloyd, of Brahma Lodge, and Salisbury Downs woman Toyah Barbara Rough, both 35, were previously charged with administering a drug to another person, false imprisonment and aggravated theft using force.
But on two separate hearings, charges against both parties have been withdrawn in the Adelaide Magistrates Court by prosecutors.
Charges against Ms Rough were withdrawn on May 16 before Magistrate Kate White, while the charges against Mr Lloyd were withdrawn on Thursday before Magistrate Karim Soetratma.
The second man, Randall Lee Headon, 40, of Paralowie, still faces charges of assault causing harm, aggravated assault with a weapon and false imprisonment.
During the original bail application in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on March 8, police prosecutors alleged that three days earlier, the victim attended a Paralowie address around 11pm to allegedly purchase drugs.
The victim was allegedly put in a headlock by Mr Headon until he was unconscious and when he regained consciousness the alleged assault continued.
The court heard he was then forced into the boot of his own vehicle and was allegedly taken to another location.
Mr Headon remains in custody until the next scheduled appearance in the Adelaide Magistrates Court in June where the charges are set to be finalised against him.
