38-year-old mother killed in Aldinga Beach house fire identified as Krystal Marshall

The identity of a southern suburbs mother who died inside a home after a fire sparked on Friday afternoon has been revealed.

The 38-year-old woman killed in a southern suburbs house fire on Friday afternoon has been identified as Krystal Marshall.

Ms Marshall was found inside her home by emergency services who were responding to a house fire that sparked about 3.25pm at Barracoota Crescent.

Nearby residents had reportedly seen smoke coming from its roof, prompting emergency services to rush to the home.

Firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze before finding the woman’s body inside.

On Saturday, her ex-partner, Anastasia Marshall, returned to the home she still shared with Ms Marshall, their two children and a friend.

“I saw smoke coming out of the house when I was walking up the street,” she told 7NEWS after the fatal incident on Friday.

“We weren’t together but we never got divorced, but we were together for 11 years before that.”

SA Police said they are preparing a report for the coroner.

Their dogs and a cat were pulled out of the house but did not sustain any injuries.

Fire investigators are yet to disclose how the fire started.

Next-door neighbour Jason Freer, 51, said he was alerted to the fire by an unusual crackling noise.

“I thought it was raining at first, so I walked outside and noticed all this smoke, there was fire coming from the neighbours’ roof,” Mr Freer said.
