The highly-anticipated venue has been under construction for months, but the wait is finally over. Here’s all you need to know about the big opening.

Eager diners looking to try the region’s newest hotspot will be pleased to know the venue’s doors are days away from opening.

It’s been under construction since June last year, but highly anticipated The Plate Restaurant, Bar and Brewery, which is part of The Paddock Butchery and The Shed Coffee Drive Thru, will officially welcome patrons from Wednesday.

Venue Manager Mark Blackmore said the unique concept was a mix of country style and city chic and was set to transform Toowoomba’s dining scene.

Seating 170 people, the venue features several areas to sit back and relax or cater larger groups and functions.

“We wanted to give people a tour of the senses – it’s not just about the look and the sounds, but the nose gets a workout too,” Mr Blackmore said.

“As soon as you walk in, the smell of the meat smoker hits you, then you get the smell of the brewery section, then you go down the stairs and there’s the kitchen smells and then you progress to the bar where they will be burning herbs for cocktails.”

The Plate Restaurant, Bar and Brewery at 224 Ruthven St, will open on Wednesday, March 16.

In-house craft brewery Bone Idol Brewery is currently being installed and is expected to be serving beers in the coming months.

Opening hours are Wednesday to Saturday for lunch from 11.30am to 2.30pm and dinner from 5.30pm to late and all-day dining on Sunday from 11.30am to late.
