Road closed after fatal crash on New England Highway at The Glen
A southwest Queensland highway was closed for several hours after a fatal crash involving a heavy vehicle. Here’s what we know.

Another life has been lost on a Darling Downs highway after a truck collided with the trailer of another vehicle and crashed into a tree.
It’s understood just before 5pm a convoy of three trucks were travelling northbound on the New England Highway at The Glen, south of Warwick when one of the heavy vehicles collided with the trailer of another vehicle, losing control and crashing into a tree off the highway.
The driver, a man in his 30s, was tragically declared dead at the scene.
Queensland Ambulance paramedics assessed another male in his 20s for minor injuries who did not require transport to hospital.
Queensland Fire Department crews were on scene for several hours, using hydraulic equipment to remove the deceased man from the vehicle.
A QFD spokeswoman said heavy haulage arrived at the scene just after 9pm to begin removing the vehicle, which was on its side, off the highway.
Fire crews left the scene at around 11pm.
Queensland Police’s Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
