Direct to Boot and pick up orders suspended at Stanthorpe Woolworths due to second burst water pipe
Direct to Boot orders are expected to be suspended over the coming days after the major grocer bore victim to a second burst water pipe. Details.
Sunday shoppers received an unpleasant surprise after Woolworths Stanthorpe weathered a second flood of its back-end in a matter of weeks.
It’s understood the cause on both occasions has been from a water pipe bursting in the vacant shop next to the major grocer.
The first incident occurred on October 21, with operations temporarily suspended until the next morning.
A Woolworths spokesman confirmed the leak was a result of the vacant store next door and the store was temporarily closed on Sunday afternoon.
“Our team members reacted quickly to the situation and we thank them for their hard work so the store could reopen. We also thank customers for their patience,” the spokesman said.
Customers expecting their click and collect orders have been refunded, with the online services remaining suspended over the coming days.
The store reopened to the public on Monday morning.
