Exclusive polling has revealed the true public perception of what Queenslanders really think about Steven Miles and David Crisafulli.

Queenslanders view Premier Steven Miles as “weak” and “incompetent,” while Opposition Leader David Crisafulli is considered “bland” and “boring”.

Six months from the October election, sentiment about the two leaders vying for the state’s top job remains divided.

In exclusive new YouGov polling for The Courier-Mail, Queenslanders were asked to use one word to sum-up their impression of Mr Miles and Mr Crisafulli.

Words used to describe the premier included “giggles” and “smiley,” with a significant portion of respondents - 20 per cent - tagging him with terms like “incompetent,” “bad,” or “ineffective.”

Some 14 per cent also deemed him “weak” or “indecisive,” while the same number considered him “good,” “competent,” or “effective”.

While only six per cent acknowledged his integrity, double the number of Queenslanders accused Mr Miles of being “dishonest” or “untrustworthy.”

Despite this, five per cent of Queenslanders consider Mr Miles as “good,” “relatable” and “friendly”.

There were similar mixed opinions about Mr Crisafulli, who has attempted to grow his profile since taking the poison chalice opposition leader role in the wake of the LNP’s 2020 election loss.

A notable 18 per cent of Queenslanders confessed they didn’t have a strong opinion about him and an equal number regarded him as “good,” “competent” or “effective.”

Mr Crisafulli was also branded as “bland,” and “boring” however, only 7 per cent viewed him as “dishonest” or “untrustworthy” compared to the premier’s 13 per cent.

Despite being described as significantly “unknown” by voters, Mr Crisafulli did manage to garner some trust, with 13 per cent associating him with “integrity” and “trustworthiness”.

The LNP hopeful was painted as “promising” and “determined”.
