A new full-line supermarket is among a host of new retail and dining outlets proposed for a massive southside development.
The masterplanned Yeerongpilly Green project, located near the Queensland Tennis Centre in Tennyson, is a major transit-orientated development earmarked along Fairfield Road and opposite Yeerongpilly Station.
Now the latest stage has been unveiled, with a 4,200 sqm supermarket as well as eateries, healthcare, office and veterinary services included.
The anchor tenant of the supermarket space of the two-storey ‘Village Centre’ has not yet been revealed.
“The proposed design for Yeerongpilly Green Village Centre has been refined over a period of 3 years, in response to Yeerongpilly Project Pty Ltd’s ambition to provide a mixed-use heart as part of a vibrant and diverse neighbourhood,” architects BVN said in the development application.
There would be 292 carparks and 77 bicycle storage spaces in the new facility.
Offices would be located on the upper storey of the Village Square.
The proposal is the latest in a flurry of new supermarkets in the Fairfield-Yeronga-Annerley area.
Along with the Woolworths along Ipswich Road at Annerley Junction, plans were also unveiled for a new Coles in Annerley, further down Ipswich Road, in January last year.
Fairfield Gardens was also recently overhauled with the existing Coles being joined by a new ALDI and a new dining precinct.
Plans were also unveiled for an upgrade to nearby Yeronga Village on Fairfield Road.
