Queensland Firebirds netball players Emily Moore and Hulita Veve are set to hit the Whitsundays as part of their 2025 Regional Tour, stopping into a community event and hosting their own clinic while they are here.
The team has a fun afternoon planned for February 1, first heading over to the Whitsunday Sports Expo as special guests for the grand opening of the brand-new netball courts at Whitsunday Sports Fields before they host a private paid netball clinic for children aged 6 to 17.
The clinic will be focused on improving passing, defence, agility, and shooting skills and will give kids the opportunity to meet the professional players and get some autographs.
Hulita Veve said the trip provided a great chance to get out into the community ahead of the 2025 campaign.
“One of the best parts of being a Queensland Firebird is heading on a Suncorp Regional Tour to connect with the members of our Purple Family across the state,” she said in a statement.
“We fully appreciate the support we get from our fans across the state and these trips are a great chance to connect with our regional members and fans to share our passion for netball with them.”
Veve will also be heading to Burdekin and Townsville as part of the tour which Netball Queensland said provided the opportunity to head to locations that don’t usually have the opportunity to meet the Firebirds or participate in their clinics and gives the team a chance to meet aspiring netballers.
Children who want to attend the clinic are encouraged to register early as spots are limited.
