A man will today face court for allegedly using a chainsaw to carve a seat into a retaining wall at Proserpine Hospital.
The 27-year-old man, who had left the hospital after going in to be treated, was allegedly seen trying to hide the tool after chopping a seat from himself in the timber wall about midnight on Saturday.
He has been charged with two counts of wilful damage — one related to the damage of the retaining wall at the hospital and the other for scratches he is accused of making while in a watch-house cell on a previous occasion.
He is expected to appear in Proserpine Magistrates Court on Monday.
