John Glendenning charged over alleged indecent treatment and procuring of children
A Qld man faces “very serious” child sex charges, one of which is rarely seen in the state’s courts.
Lawyers have been briefed in the case of a man facing confronting child sex charges.
John Glendenning’s charges of indecent treatment of children under 16, obtaining commercial sexual services from a child under 16, and using the internet to procure children under 16 and intentionally meeting or going to meet that child were mentioned in Proserpine Magistrates Court.
Rosemary Varley from Legal Aid Queensland appeared as town agent on behalf of Kely Law, telling the court a full brief of evidence had been received, and counsel had been engaged.
She asked that the matter be adjourned until next year to allow them to go through the material.
She previously told the court she had advised the 61-year-old that these were “very serious matters” that were “not going away”.
The case was adjourned to January 12 for mention.
