A woman has been rushed to hospital following a crash at Flametree earlier this morning.

Emergency crews arrived on the scene of a single vehicle crash that blocked Shute Harbour Rd in both directions at 6.20am.

Police assisted with traffic control while the road was closed as paramedics assessed a woman in her 20s.

She was taken to Proserpine Hospital in a stable condition suffering from neck pains, according to paramedics.

Traffic was backed up 700m when the car involved, a Toyota Corolla, was pulled from the side of the road 6.53am and towed from the scene.

The road was reopened shortly after.
