Known by many as the “Brow Girl” and having shaped, tinted and tattooed thousands of brows, Elise Scott has made a name for herself across several Queensland regions, claiming the title of Whitsundays and Bowen’s best brow technician for 2023.
Ms Scott started her business, Elise Scott Cosmetics and Beauty, 10 years ago and has been “stuck in the brow game” ever since.
“My clients just won’t let me leave,” she joked.
“They say they’ll follow me wherever I go.”
Currently working between Bowen — where she is based — and the Nu You Aesthetics and Beauty salon in Mackay, Ms Scott’s reputation for brow mastery extends beyond the Bowen and Whitsundays region.
Born and raised in New Zealand, she moved to the Gold Coast after finishing her diploma in Make up Artistry when she was 22.

Growing up, Ms Scott never considered becoming a brow technician, but she had a natural talent for shaping brows, which she discovered while helping her friends with their makeup.
“I was always the person who did everyone’s brows and make up,” she said.
“Once I got into the career, I had this dream of being a makeup artist for models on the runway.”
Moving to Whitsundays when she was 25, Ms Scott started working almost immediately for herself, running her business Elise Scott Cosmetic Tattooing and Beauty from a salon for almost six years, before moving onto another salon and then deciding to expand her business to become mobile.
Hiring rooms in salons across Mackay, Moranbah, Bowen and in the Whitsundays, Ms Scott tries to be in different places to make it more accessible for her clients.
“A lot of my clients are older as well, they don’t want to travel and want things that are easy,” she said.
“My clients are like my own little family.
I don’t see them sometimes for 12 months, so it’s like a catch up for me where I get to do their brows and make them feel beautiful.”
The first person to bring brow tattooing to the Whitsundays, introduced the service to clients a decade ago after loving how it looked on herself.
“I've always had great word-of-mouth in the Whitsundays region, known in Airlie Beach for brow tinting and shaping as ‘the brow girl’,” she said.
“When I had my eyebrows tattooed, I thought ‘my clients need this’.”
Ms Scott also offers lip, blush, tattooing and eyeliner enhancement.
“I really take the time to know my clients’ features and personalities, to figure out what style would best suit them.”

Earning the trust and admiration of her clients, Ms. Scott dedicates her time, personality, and confidence to not only delivering exceptional results but also nurturing meaningful connections with them.
“I’ve also undergone a lot of training over the past 10 years, spending time and learning from top brow artists who I follow on Instagram, whether it be in Robina, the Gold Coast, or Brisbane.”
Trying out different careers as well as her cosmetics and beauty business, Ms Scott worked in the mines between 2019 and 2021.
“I would work in the mines one week, and do brows the next,” she said.
The most fulfilling aspect of her work is the relationships she forms with her clients and the positive impact on their confidence and happiness.
As her business continues to evolve, Ms Scott aims to reach even more regions, ensuring that her expertise and the confidence it instils are accessible to all, especially those who may find it challenging to travel.
Her goal is to create a warm, familial atmosphere where clients feel not only beautified but also valued and understood.
