There is plenty to choose from when it comes to entertainment in the Whitsundays this weekend. Check out some of our top picks.
1. Circus comes to Bowen
Bring the family to Lennon Bros Circus for an exciting and entertaining day and night showing at Bowen next to the Grand View Hotel from Thursday July 29 to Sunday August 1.
The 90-minute performances feature crazy clowns, aerial acrobatics, the ‘Globe of Death,’ and more.

2. Whitsunday Multicultural Festival
This free event at the Bowen Soundshell on Friday, July 30 will showcase and celebrate the diversity of the Whitsundays through traditional dance, cooking and art activities.
Running from 5pm to 9pm, the festival will include a variety of cultural food, entertainment, markets, a lantern parade and a celebration of Bowen‘s 160th Anniversary.
Bring your own lantern for the parade or decorate one at the Soundshell during a workshop before the festival begins from 3pm – 5pm.
Make sure you stick around for a special cake cutting followed by a fireworks display.

3. Proserpine State School Fete
From 5.30pm to 9.30pm on Friday, July 30, the community is invited to enjoy entertainment, stalls, food and rides at Proserpine State School’s biggest annual fundraising event.
Funds raised this year will go towards a new playground for the school.
4. Mackerel Muster 2021
Whitsunday Marine Club at Cannonvale kicks off its family friendly mackerel fishing competition at 6pm Friday, July 30, with cash prizes for the heaviest catch across multiple categories.
Sign up on Friday night, fish to your heart’s content over the weekend, and present your catch at the weigh-in from 3.30pm to 4.30pm on Sunday, August 1.

5. Australian Stock Horse Society Campdraft
The Whitsunday Branch of the Australian Stock Horse Society brings its annual campdraft to entertain crowds at Proserpine Showgrounds from Friday, July 30 to Sunday, August 1.
Competitions include crab tying, barrel races, and youth horse sports, with a chance to get in on the action in an open Calcutta auction on Saturday night.

6. Emergency Services Field Day
A free event at Whitsunday Police Station on Saturday, July 31 is a great chance to say thanks to local heroes doing their bit to keep the community safe.
Head to the station between 8am and 11am to meet police, paramedics, fire fighters, and marine rescue and SES volunteers, view displays, and enjoy a barbecue thanks to Whitsunday PCYC.
7. National Tree Day at Proserpine
Filby‘s Motors and St Catherine’s Catholic School are teaming up to bring a community planting and fun day to Proserpine on Sunday, August 1.
From 8am to 12pm attendees can help plant native trees at the school, enjoy a free jumping castle and face painting, support fundraising efforts by buying a BBQ lunch, and explore a mini sustainability market.
The event will also feature lots of information on local fauna and flora, Toyota, NQ Toyota Cowboys and National Tree Day Giveaways, and a hybrid car display.
