An Airlie Beach bottle shop has announced it will shut for the last time on Friday, citing “alcohol licensing complications” as the reason for the closure.

Coral Sea Cellars took to social media early this month to announce the store would close on January 15, with the post thanking residents for their support.

“Thank you for all our loyal support from locals. It’s very appreciated,” the post read.

“However due to alcohol licensing complications we are unfortunately having to close the shop.”

The business initially offered a 20 per cent discount to shoppers but last night announced it would offer a 50 per cent discount on anything left in store on Friday.

“Once again, thank you all for popping down to our store,” a post on Facebook said.

“Hope we have given you all good customer service over our time of operations and hope we can get support from our customers in the closing of the store.”

Coral Sea Cellars opened at Coral Sea Marina in May 2019 next to Bohemian Raw Cafe.

The business has been approached for comment.
