A new creative hub will launch in the Whitsundays providing an art space for regional and visiting artists to showcase their talents.
The gallery will adjoin 3 Little Birds Espresso cafe along Shute Harbour Rd in Airlie Beach.
Cafe co-owners and artists Angela Vivian and Joan Hunter said they designed the gallery with the intention of creating a permanent platform for artists.
3 Little Birds Gallery is holding a special preview event on Friday, November 4, featuring a meet and greet with exhibiting artists.
These include Agnes Durbet, Brigitte Peel, Courteney Vivian, Jenna Benson, Leah Warren, Nelida Avila-Picossa, Pam Harrison, and creators Angela Vivian and Joan Hunter (JHunter Creations).
The exhibition will showcase an eclectic range of art mediums including watercolour, pastels, acrylic, pencil, charcoal and resin, with artworks available to purchase on the day.
“Our goal is to add a year-round arts attraction to the Whitsundays, this first showing is just the start,” Ms Hunter said.
Tourism Whitsundays CEO Rick Hamilton said the addition of a place for Whitsunday artists to exhibit their work was a great addition to the region.
“When we look at the offering of the Whitsundays, art is something that is missing a lot of the year,” Mr Hamilton said.
“The new gallery space will give art a home all year.”
To buy tickets to the event, head to 3 Little Birds’ website or head in store. The gallery will also open to the public from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, November 5 and Sunday, November 6.
