Police search flood water for man stuck in Lismore CBD drain
Grave fears are held for a man who was seen calling for help from flood water in Lismore’s CBD before disappearing out of sight.

A search for man who police believe has been swept into a Lismore CBD drain will resume in the morning as flood water rises through the Northern Rivers town.
Police were near Brewster Street and Uralba Street in Lismore on Sunday when they saw and heard a man calling for assistance from flood water nearby.
Emergency services initiated a rescue operation to retrieve the man but they lost sight of him.
Police rescue specialists entered the water and searched the area; however, the man was not found.
A search of the surrounding area was suspended due to flood water dangers and will start again on Monday morning.
The situation comes as Lismore residents prepare for major flooding of the Wilson River with the Bureau of Meteorology expecting six-hourly rainfall totals of up to 250mm across the mid-to-north coast.
