Parts of Southern Downs records more than 100mm as South East Queensland cops drenching

Southern Queensland has seen a lashing of rainfall since the weekend, causing flash flooding across parts of the wider region.
Parts of the Southern Downs were among those who received a major deluge overnight to Tuesday recording rainfalls of up to 106mm.
Bureau of Meteorology community information officer Patch Clapp said Campbell’s Gully northeast of Warwick had recorded rainfall of 106mm overnight, but there was a reprieve coming later in the week.
“We’ve seen some heavy falls recorded overnight in the northeast of Warwick, with the remainder receiving between 50-75mm,” he said.
“Less rainfall was recorded in Stanthorpe and the Granite Belt overnight, with some parts receiving between 25-50mm.
“There will be a shift into an easing trend in the back half of the week for the Southern Downs and Granite Belt.”
Mr Clapp said a minor flood watch warning had been issued this morning for the Condamine River to Warwick.
Across the southwest region St George recorded rainfall of up to 100mm, with moderate flooding expected to Flinton, with a moderate flooding alert issued for the Moonie River.
Major flooding alert has been issued at the Clydesdales Alert Gauge on the Western Downs this morning, with minor flooding reported along the Myall Creek.
