SEVERAL people have been injured after lightning struck a nearby tree in Mackay this evening.
A group of 10 were celebrating Christmas at Mackay Water Ski Club in Devereux Creek, when lightning struck a tree just 10m away about 8pm.
Paramedics assessed all 10 people. It was believed some would require transportation to hospital, but none was seriously hurt
