Late night thunderstorms, heavy rain for Gold Coast
Southern Queensland is facing severe storms this morning with one location recording 50mm in less than an hour, while Brisbane could be hit by thunderstorms later today.

A severe storm warning is active for parts of southern Queensland this morning after heavy rain caused flash flooding across the Gold Coast overnight.
The Bureau of Meteorology is warning the severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding for parts of the Maranona, Warrego and Darling Downs districts.
Locations which may be affected include Goondiwindi, St George, Hungerford, Bollon, Mungindi and Surat.
Arden Downs northwest of Goondiwindi recorded 48mm in an hour on Thursday morning.
Meanwhile, Brisbane is being warned of potential early morning thunderstorms with a high chance of showers across the day.
Overnight, semi-stationary storms across the Gold Coast produced heavy rain and isolated flash flooding.
Monterey Keys recorded 74mm in the hour till 10:45pm and 107mm since 9am Wednesday, while Biggera Creek had 37mm of rain between 10-11pm and Molendinar 28mm.
