Queenslanders should take advantage of the sunny summer days while they still can, with downpours expected through the coming week.
Despite perfect summer conditions on Saturday, weather bureau meteorologist Shane Kennedy said showers would build up this afternoon.
“There will be showers and storms extending across the majority of the state by the end of the week,” he said.
“There’ll be a little bit more sunshine on Tuesday for a brief gap… but Thursday will be another wet day for the southeast.”
There’s also a chance of severe thunderstorms hitting southern and central Queensland, but they should bypass Brisbane, according to Mr Kennedy.
Temperatures are expected to be moderate in the southeast, with the mercury dropping to the high 20s from Monday onwards.
