Week of crime leaves Warwick police with full plate of alleged offenders

Warwick Magistrates Court will again be inundated at the next call-over with various alleged offenders as the Rose City endures yet another week of crime.

The Southern Downs has been victim to more than a dozen serious and violent crimes this year alone, from thefts to break and enters, assaults, drink or drug drivers.

Below is the full wrap of alleged offences that have kept Warwick police on their toes for another week.

THEFTS

• A Ridgeview Rd residence was the target of thieves last Wednesday night when a vehicle parked in the driveway of the residence was broken into, which saw a small amount of cash and personal items stolen from the vehicle.

• Last Thursday at around 12.30pm a diamond mountain bike was unlawfully removed from a loading dock on Guy St, seeing the offender remove the lock and take off with the bike.

• A Glengallan Rd caravan park was also the target of thieves last Thursday, with a number of household items including a hair dryer, toilet paper and linen taken from a cabin on the property. Investigations are continuing.

PROPERTY AND WILFUL DAMAGE

• Police investigations are continuing into a wilful damage offence last Wednesday, which saw offenders gain access to a Brosnon St rail yard and begin graffitiing the side of a train.

• A transport company in Kenilworth St at Morgan Park has reportedly seen a number of damage offences reported to police, including damage to locks and chains at the perimeter fence and gate with the locks allegedly damaged with glue. Investigations are continuing.

TRAFFIC OFFENCES

• Saturday night saw a 37-year-old Redland Bay woman charged with high range drink driving after allegedly being detected by police driving on Albert St at around 9.15pm, returning a blood-alcohol reading of 0.240.

The same woman was allegedly again located in Fitzroy St by police later that night and was allegedly abusive towards another female who was looking after her, with the 37-year-old woman subsequently arrested for intoxication and will later appear in the Warwick Magistrates Court.
