A man who failed to appear in court last week on serious drug charges has been sentenced on an additional matter in Warwick Magistrates Court.
The man, Wayne John Milburn, was noted by his lawyer Sarah Campbell as not being present again on Monday, November 27.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Chris Hutchins told the court that a search warrant was executed at a Warwick address earlier this year, locating a scale, clip seal bags, a scoop and a pipe.
Magistrate Virginia Sturgess sentenced the man under the charge of one charge of possessing pipe or utensils, and fined the man $300, with no convictions recorded.
It is understood the man is facing dozens of charges relating to drug supply, which he was supposed to be sentenced for in Warwick District Court last Friday.
After waiting two hours for the man to appear to face the charges, his legal team withdrew representing him, and presiding Judge John Allen KC issued a warrant for the man’s arrest.
Updates to come.
