Wayne John Milburn fails to turn up for drug offence sentencing, warrant issued

An alleged drug offender has been abandoned by his legal team after skipping court on drug matters.

A man who was expected to be sentenced on what was understood to be drug charges has failed to appear in court, resulting in his legal team abandoning him.

The man, Wayne John Milburn, was listed to be sentenced at 9.30am in Warwick District Court, under Judge John Allen KC.

However, by 11.30am, the man had failed to appear, despite being advised to be there by his legal representative.

The defence counsel for Mr Milburn told the judge just before noon they sought to withdraw from representing the man.

Judge Allen called for a warrant to be issued.
