One of the biggest sporting clubs in Warwick has said a tearful goodbye to one of its coaches after more than a decade with the club.
Coach Nikki Burraston first joined Warwick Gymnastic Club in 2008 as a young gymnast with the club before moving on to coaching and volunteering her time to mentor the next generation of gymnasts.
Ms Burraston recently made the decision to leave the club in order to pursue a new career in education.
Head coach Lyndsay Morris said Ms Burraston had been an important part of a club which was always based on effort and volunteering.
“My favourite thing about Nikki is she’s always willing to help out and put things aside which is amazing, we’re a not-for-profit club so we really rely on hard work and volunteers,” Mrs Morris said.
“Nikki has always been one who’s ready to jump in and everyone has nothing but good things to say about her at the club.
“We’ll really miss her, she’s someone we can all lean on no matter what and so trustworthy, it’s hard to find people like that.
“It’s amazing to see what she’s done with herself, and good luck to her on her future career.”
